Topic day, May 18th 2022

Stip-HF would like to invite you to our topic day this spring.

 

The event is held at Kvarteret from 11.30 – 16.00, May 18th, and the topic will be precarity in academia.

Throughout the day we will have four different sessions:

• What we know about precarity at HF: Who are the temporary employees? What will meet us in terms of academic job opportunities when we finish our PhDs? Are we doomed to temporality?
• Precarity and internationalization: We will explore what academic tracks look like in other countries. How does the emphasis on internationalization affect our chances of getting a permanent position in academia in the future? Does everyone have to go abroad?
• Women in academia and precarity: Who are the women that succeed in academia, and what makes it possible to stay?
• The postdoc-perspective: Should applying for a postdoc position be our next step after the PhD? What do we want the postdoc-positions at HF to be, and in what way should they prepare us for a permanent position?
