Join us for our monthly payday drink! This is a great opportunity to socialize and unwind at the end of the week. Whether you prefer a refreshing beverage or simply good company, we warmly welcome you. Alcohol consumption is entirely optional, and everyone is encouraged to join regardless of their drink preference.
✍️ Shut Up and Write – Relaunching September 23rd
Together with the Arts and Humanities Library, we are relaunching Shut Up and Write to help boost productivity and provide a supportive writing environment.
- When: Every Tuesday, 23rd Sept – 25th Nov, 13:00–16:00
- Where: First floor of the Book Tower
- For whom: All PhD candidates at HF (no registration needed)
Bring your work and laptop, we’ll provide the space and a bit of friendly group pressure. Sessions follow the classic format: 45 minutes of focused writing + 15-minute break.
📅 Save the Date: Topic Day – October 9th
We are organizing a Topic Day on Preparing for Academic Conferences. Planned sessions include:
- Writing Compelling Conference Abstracts – crafting clear and engaging submissions.
- Designing & Presenting Research Visually – posters, data visualization, and presentation tips.
- Mastering the Poster Pitch – how to deliver a confident and concise poster spiel.
More details on the schedule will be shared soon!
👉 At the end of November, there will be a follow-up Poster Conference where PhD candidates can present their posters in an informal setting open to all HF staff. This will be a great opportunity to showcase research, receive feedback, and connect across departments.
🏞️ Writing Retreat – December 1–3, 2025
STIP-HF is organizing this semester’s writing retreat. To help us with planning, we are currently collecting expressions of interest.
